'The Artist With Two Brains' is an exhibition that celebrates the phenomenon of the artist duo, identifying artists that have chosen a dual identity over individual practice. 'The Artist with Two Brains' will take place in St. Paul's Church, a magnificent example of Neo-Classical architecture, built in 1779 at the heart of the Jewellery Quarter

There is a long tradition of artists collaborating with each other but in recent times more artists are joining forces for the duration of their careers, often forming their alliance at art school, forcing the education establishments to start recognising such collaborative partnerships within their validation processes. This trend seems to be particularly prominent in the UK and the majority of such partnerships seem to be limited to Northern Europe.

The exhibition will chart this sudden rise in partnership practices by providing examples of those that pioneered the phenomenon, such as Fischli & Weiss, as well as those that have made their names since. The main weight of the presentation will showcase some of the newer artist partnerships that are emerging and will include new works from the likes of Juneau Projects, that have been commissioned to make work that fits dramatically within the architecture of St, Paul's.
