After a long time of no new posts being put up I thought it would be a good idea to make a big useful one that will help out museum managers who are struggling with building a community around their museums. As I’ve already mentioned elsewhere, museums seem to be having lower and lower number of visitors and if you are a museum manager that’s struggling with similar issues, todays post will help you out.

Useful museum manage resources – Lecture by Valerie Hannon

This lecture I found over at MuseumQuestions.com and it might not be specific to museums, but the lecturer Valerie Hannon still covers a lot of good points on how to build an educational community. When you think about it, that’s what people who frequent technological museums are, a educational community of people who want to learn. That’s at least what museum community is supposed to be.

If you don’t know who Valerie Hannon is, she is a London based education innovator, a consultant who has been involved with the education industry for a great number of years and who seeks to make radical changes to make education more interesting to people. Checkout this lecture if you want to learn more how to boost the number of visitors to your museum by building a community around it.
